Stair lifts aid anti falling campaign for the elderly

It was recently announced that America’s educational program that features an “anti falling” campaign for the elderly, has received a considerable grant to install more stair lifts into their facilities as a way of preventing even more falls.

30% of elderly people suffer a fracture or broken bone from falling and this usually leads to many other future medical complications for the person who may also find it difficult to regain confidence. The campaign which has been running for some years now aims to lower the number of people falling across America as well as raise awareness for the issue. The campaign is looking to reach the message across to the UK.

According to medics, many elderly people who have fallen become disconnected from the world because of the lack of confidence they have after the fall. The campaign helps to combat these issues and has already raised a lot of awareness on the subject which is fast becoming one of the biggest concerns for the elderly facing us today.

Stair lifts have become increasingly popular in the past ten years as grants are more readily available to help those who are less financially able to accomplish everyday tasks such as getting up the stairs. It also helps the elderly and less physically able to become more independent without the need to move house.
