There is a stairlift available to suit nearly all staircases. There are stairlifts which have been designed with a compact carriage and rail, along with folding arms, seat and foot rest to make them fold away neatly on the narrowest staircases. Other stairlifts have been designed for staircases with bends, intermediate landings and corridors.

Most stairlifts nowadays have safety features from seat belts and safety locks (incase you have little children playing nearby) to Safety cut-out sensors which will stop the lift if an object gets in the way. All safety features are included in the descriptions for each lift.

The stairlift is fitted directly to the tread of the stairs, and not to the wall, which means that your decorating will be left intact.

• How long does it take to install a stairlift, and how disruptive is it?

All the stairlift we fit are installed in just a matter of hours with the minimum of fuss. Our fitters install the stairlift with a minimum of mess and bring their own vacuum cleaners to tidy up. Before leaving each stairlift is tested thoroughly and each customer trained on how to use the lift.

• What warranties will I get with my stairlift?

Every A1 stairlift comes with 2 year comprehensive warranty and 2 free services . Each reconditioned stairlift comes with a 12 month warranty.

• What happens if I have a power cut?

If you have a power cut, all battery powered stairlifts will continue operating. Battery powered lifts automatically charge at the top or bottom of the stairs to ensure that the battery is always on full charge.

• What happens if my lift breaks down?

Simply call the "within 24 hour" callout number and the engineer will get your stairlift going again. You will be given the call out number when we install your lift. We do provide a selection of service plans but we will still come out to you even if you don't take a policy out.
