British Gas is providing rebates of up to £90 to 300,000 of its most vulnerable customers for the winter of 2006/2007.
Who is eligible?
Any British Gas customer in receipt of at least one of the benefits listed below is eligible to apply for this rebate.
How do I apply?
British Gas will be identifying and sending letters about the rebate scheme to customers that it considers are most vulnerable to hardship because of the latest price rises (from 1 March 2006, British Gas will be raising its prices by 22%).
Eligible customers may also call 0845 601 2006 to register an interest in being included in the scheme.
Please note: Not everyone who qualifies and applies for a rebate will receive one. Millions of people are in receipt of at least one of the above benefits and availability is limited to just 300,000 rebates.
How much could I get?
The rebate is available for both single and dual fuel customers. Customers could receive rebates of up to £60 for gas and up to £30 for electricity supplied through British Gas.
This will be credited to their energy bills. Pre-payment customers will be advised nearer the time about how their rebate will be made.
